​Samuel D. Mills, age 75, of Columbus, OH, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Grant Hospital. He was born April 5, 1942 to the late Martin Mills and Rosie Hammond Mills in Martin County, Kentucky.  
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Mills; brothers, Mossie Mills, James Mills and Charles Ray Mills; sisters, Anna Mae Horn, Acquilla Burch, Ima Gene Hardin, Nellie Fleming, and Kathy Mills.
He is survived by his wife, Dollie J. Anderson Mills of Columbus, OH; 1 son, Samuel David Mills of Columbus, OH; 2 daughters, Lora Stepp of Louisa, KY and Shannon Toler of Columbus, OH; 1 brother, Arlie Mills of Columbus, OH, 2 sisters, Darcus Sumpter of Inez, KY and Oma Sue Fleming of Jackson, OH. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Jennifer Lyon, Paula Rickman, Autumn Toler, Paul Stepp II, Justina Mills, Hannah Hill, Sammy Mills, Jr., and Abigail Mills and 2 great grandchildren, Daxton Rickman and Jenna Lyon.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home with Brice Utt, Paul Stepp and Paul Stepp II. Burial will follow in the Mills Horn Crum Cemetery, Inez, KY. Friends may visit Friday after 6 PM at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home, Inez, KY.

​​​Larry Evans, age 70, of Debord, KY, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the VAMC in Huntington, WV. He was born February 14, 1948 to the late Mose Evans and Effie Ferguson Evans in Lenore, WV. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Roger Dale Evans. He is survived by his wife, Edna Fraley Evans as well as his son, Larry Michael Evans of Debord, KY and one sister, Shirley Banks of Lenore, WV. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Inez Church of Christ with James Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens, Louisa, KY. Zella (Dials) Johnson, 79 years old, passed away at Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa, KY on April 3, 2018. She resided on Davella Road, Debord, KY. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Johnson of Melvan, KY and her parents, Abslom and Orgie (Meade) Dials of Warfield, KY.  

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Wallace (Frankie) Dials, Rhodes (Elousie) Dials, William Henry (Ann) Dials, Buddy (Nancy) Dials, and Tony (Patty) Dials; sisters, Elizabeth Dials Maynard, Juanita Dials (Ralph) Gibson, Avonell Dials, and Annie Mae Dials.

She is survived by her children, Debbie Johnson (Mike) Burrough, Diana Johnson (Dale) Hensley, Joyce Johnson (Billy) Branscome, Gary Johnson, Mary Johnson (Matt) Webster, and Missy Johnson (Oscar) Fuller; grandchildren, Matthew Clark, David Clark, Brandy Webster, Brent Fuller, Jarrod Fuller, Justin Branscome, Kara Webster and Logan Webster; great grandchildren, Aiden Clark, Jonathan Clark, Alexander Clark, Mikaela Clark, Austin Webster, Jordan Webster, and Kayleigh Branscome.

She was a member of Allen Youth and Worship Center of Allen, KY. A special thank you goes to mom’s caregivers Thelma (Susie) Preston, Wanda (Bowen) Harmon, and Rachael (Scott) Mullins. She loved you everyone.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 6, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home with Pastor Shane Akers, Jimbo Lowe, and Nick O’Bryan officiating. Burial will follow in the Warfield Cemetery, Collins Creek, KY. Friends may visit the funeral home after 5 PM Wednesday and all day Thursday. ​​Marguarette Ann Harvey, age 70, of Columbus, OH, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Mount Carmel East Medical Center. She was born June 6, 1947 to the late Bill and Gladis Blackburn in Louisa, KY. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by 1 brother, Gustavus (Mickey) Blackburn; 4 sisters, Odean Frazier, Billie Jean Branham, Janet Lou Maynard, and Rita Gail Ratcliff. She is survived by her son Jeffrey Harvey of Columbus, OH and daughter, Melissa Harvey also of Columbus, OH. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 5 PM in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home with John Goble officiating. Glenn H. Cornette, age 83 of Inez, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 at his residence. He was born December 3, 1934 to the late Burb Cornette and Nancy Jane Moore Cornette in Martin County, KY.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Jean Gray Cornette, 1 son, Bobby Cornette, 1 son-in-law, Nathan Gayle Maynard, 1 brother-in-law, Frank Avalos, and his sister, Glenna Cornette Delong Horn.
He is survived by 2 sons; Mike (Remona) Cornette of Debord, KY and Joey Cornette of Inez, KY, 3 daughters; Lou (Greg) Porter of Debord, KY and Patty (Edward) McGinnis and Dee Maynard, both of Inez, KY, and 2 sister-in-laws, Linda (Dave) Karasevic and Patricia Avalos, both of Ohio. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 2 PM in the chapel of Crum funeral home with Denny Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Cornette Cemetery, Inez, KY. Russell Stepp, 89, of Lovely, KY, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 20, 2018 in Ashville, OH with his daughter-in-law by his side. Born September 23, 1928 to the late Harrison Stepp and Edna Newsome Stepp in Martin County, KY. Russell was a long-time ambassador in the funeral business as well as a deputy and proud army veteran. 
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Virgie “Bobby” Stepp, one son, Michael Gregory Stepp, one daughter, Theresa Ann Stepp, and one brother, Bennie Newsome. He is survived by 2 brothers; Vernon (Arizona) Stepp of Lovely, KY and his lifetime best friend/brother, Ervin “Prent” (Peggy) Newsome of Inez, KY, 1 sister, Ernestine Newsome Moore of Mississippi, 3 grandchildren; Michael Russell Stepp and Sara LaChelle Stepp, both of Ashville, OH, and Kaitlyn LeaAnn Mae Ward of Inez, KY, 1 great grandson on the way, Jamison Michael, his daughter-in-law who thought of him more as a father, Brenda Stepp, one son-in-law, Kenny Ward, several nieces and nephews, as well as his special family at Phelps and Son and Crum Funeral Homes where he worked for 22 years; Bill and Jenny Phelps, Billy Phelps, Eva Spence, Michael Crum, Mike Crum, Billy Taylor, Tommy Meade, Steve Rose, Chris Sizemore, Angela Crum and a multitude of others that he had worked alongside through the years.
Also, a special thank you to friends and family that have helped in Russell’s time of need.

Hazel (Blackburn) Hammond, age 92 of Inez, KY, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at her residence. She was born December 9, 1925 to the late Troy Blackburn and Annie Hickman Blackburn in Martin County, KY.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bill (William) Hammond. She is survived by 3 sons; David Hammond and Jimmy (Katrina) Hammond, both of Inez, KY, and James (Vernie) Hammond of Ripley, WV, 2 daughters; Doris (Antonacci) Hammond of Reynoldsburg, OH and Brenda (Dale) Ramella of Inez, KY, and 2 brothers; Charles (Ernestine) Blackburn of Columbus, OH and Troy (Maggie) Blackburn of Inez, KY. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; Theresa (Kenny) Wheeler, Tracie (Jeff) Carter, David Gayle (Tammy) Hammond, Jamie (Jackie) Hammond, Kendra Baisden, Seth Romas, Taylor Romas, Jason (Amber) Ramella, Brianna Ramella, Jared “Eli” Romas, Troy James Carter, and Brayden Carter, 2 step grandchildren; Jessie Hale and Sabrina Jude, 6 great grandchildren and her special nieces and nephew; Connie Horn, Donna Meade, Crystal Bryant, Joann Horn, and Joseph Meade.

William “Bill” Francis Crum, 90, of Inez, KY, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. Born July 9, 1927 to the late Norvin Crum and Angeline Pack Crum in Matewan, WV.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Tennessee Tiller Crum, 1 son, William Crum, Jr., 4 brothers; Kermit, Lewis, Kelly, and Mac Crum, and 3 sisters; Gladys Cline, Jean Watson, and Hazel Trout.  He is survived by 3 sons; Norvin Columbus Crum, Benjamin Franklin (Tammy) Crum, and James Alex (Michelle) Crum, all of Inez, KY, 3 daughters; Jenettie Boston of Springhill, TN, Francis Jean (Roy) Crum and Louise Marie Crum, both of Inez, KY, and 2 brothers; Mitchell Crum of Union City, OH and Dennis Crum of Inez, KY. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren.

​Fred Parsley, 88, of Warfield, KY passed away April 18, 2018 at his residence. Born March 21, 1930 to the late Albert and Rebecca Harmon Parsley of Pilgrim, KY. Fred was a long-time member of the Lovely Freewill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Fred also served his country during the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, Fred is preceded in death by his son, Freddie Bruce Parsley and his loving wife, Emojean Dalton Parsley, 4 brothers, Prentice Webb, Bennie, Arthur and Albert Jr. Parsley, 1 sister, Virginia Parsley Davis and son-in-law, Bobby Hall.
He is survived by his daughters, Donna Hall of Inez, KY and Deborah (Ralph) Sparks of Warfield, KY, 5 grandchildren, Derrick and Aaron Goble, Juanita Damron, Melissa Jarrell, and Tyler Hall and 7 great grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday, April 20, 2018 at Lovely Freewill Baptist at 11 AM with Lonnie Smith and Danny Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Warfield Cemetery, Collin Creek, KY. ​​Marvin Pinson, age 71, of Inez, KY, passed away Friday, April 6, 2018 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. He was born July 26, 1946 to the late Malcolm Marvin and Rhoda Dalton Pinson in Martin County, KY. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Jimmy, Donald Gene and James Thomas Pinson, and 3 sisters, Geraldine Pinson, Nadine Scott and Olivene Stepp. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Sue Scott Pinson of Inez, KY; 2 sons, Malcolm Marvin (Deonna) Pinson of Tomahawk, KY and Charles Brian Delong of North Carolina; 2 daughters, Chelsea Jenan Pinson of Inez, KY and Emily Dalana Pinson of Georgetown, KY; 4 brothers, Gregory (Cindy) Pinson of Holgate, OH, Warnie (Rita) Pinson, Terry Pinson, and Jeffrey (Monica) Pinson all of Inez, KY. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Keenan Turner, Brayden Turner, Delia Pinson, and William Jaxson McCoart. He also leaves behind a host of other family members and friends. ​Ralph Williams, age 89, of Inez, KY, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at his residence. Born December 20, 1928, to the late Herbert Williams and Myrtle Hinkle Williams in Martin County, KY. He was local minister and faithful member of the Turkey Creek Church of the Nazarene for many years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, James Orson Williams, his daughter, Elizabeth Ann Williams and his brother, Donald Williams. He is survived by his loving wife, Alvatine Horn Williams; two sons, Gary (Phyllis) Williams and Eddie Dean (Karen) Williams, both of Inez, KY; 2 daughters, Marcia (Rayne) Preece and Jane (Lonnie) Osborne, both of Inez, KY; 1 brother, Arlie Williams of Flatwoods, KY. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Turkey Creek Church of the Nazarene with Garrett and Dwayne Mills officiating.  Granville Sweeney, age 63, of Beauty , KY, passed away Monday, April 23, 2018 at Baptist Health in Lexington, KY. He was born July 14, 1954 to the late Carless Sweeney and Nancy Maynard Sweeney in Paintsville, KY. Granville  was a retired bus driver and spent many years as a minister, constable and also as a firefighter for the Warfield Volunteer Fire Department. 
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Lucy Stepp Sweeney and his second wife, Francis McCoy Sweeney, 1 son, Frank Sweeney, and 1 brother, Ronnie Sweeney.
He is survived by 2 sons; Granville Shaun Sweeney of Beauty, KY and Joseph Carl (Christy) Sweeney of Lexington, KY, 1 stepdaughter, Kathy Jo Lowe, 1 stepson, Ira Lee Maynard, 5 brothers; Keith and Dallas (Martha) Sweeney, both of Inez, KY, Carlos Jr. (Kathy), Randall (Carolyn)and Mason (Annie) Sweeney, all of Beauty, KY, and 3 sisters; Connie (Dewey) Murphy of Lovely, KY, Rosetta Jude of Warfield, KY and Anna Gertrude Hickman of Columbus, OH. He is also survived by 1 grandchild, Shaunntae Dominique Sweeney of Louisa, KY.
