Billy Curtis Preece, age 82 of Inez, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Three Rivers Medical Center, Louisa, Ky. Born, April 23, 1935 in Martin County he was the son of the late Jessie Golden Preece and Opal Cline Preece. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by one brother: Daniel Preece.

   He is survived by his wife, Corrine Preece of Inez, Ky., one daughter; Connie (Claude) Lowe of Louisa, Ky., one step-daughter: Sherry Branham of Louisa, Ky., two step-sons: James (Shirley) Fannin and Paul (Diana) Fannin both of Louisa, Ky., two grandchildren: C.J. (Kathy Preston) Lowe of Louisa, Ky., and Jarrett (Kristen Hinkle) Lowe of Inez, Ky., four great-grandchildren, one uncle: Bill Cline of Walla, TN., two brothers: Phillip H. Preece of Columbus, Oh., and Winnis (Gale) Preece of Tucker Ga., three sisters: Genoa Preece of Florida, Janet (Carl) Mills of Tomahawk, Ky., and Karen Sue Preece of Mansfield, Oh.

   Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, October 21, 2017 in the chapel of the Crum Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Preece Cemetery, Inez. Richard Davis will officiate. Friends can visit the funeral home from 6-9 pm Thursday and Friday. Arrangements are under the direction of the Crum Funeral Home, Inez.

Larry Richard Burchfield, age 55 of Columbus, Ohio formerly of Martin County, passed away October 6, 2017 at Ohio State University. Born August 10, 1962 to the late Jesse and Vaoma Howard Burchfield .

He is survived by his wife: Cyhthia Burchfield of Columbus, Ohio ., one daughter: Chris Timberlake of Logan, Ohio., one sister Katie Brewer of Columbus, Ohio and one nephew: James Robert Maynard.

  Funeral Services will be 1:00pm Wednesday, October 11,2017 in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Howard Cemetery, Debord, Ky. Lonnie Ratliff will officiate.    Nebert Lee Horn, age 80 of Inez, Ky., passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Martin County Health Care Facility. Born September 12, 1937 on Turkey Creek in Martin County he was the son of the late Bascom and Millie Harris Horn. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one son; Emery Horn, one granddaughter; Emily Horn, three brothers; Frank, Edgar and Sheldon Horn, four sisters; Aretta Mills, Annie Crum, Alberta Jarrell and Stella Blackburn.
    He is survived by his wife Neva Sue Horn of Inez, Ky., two sons; Dennis (Andrea) Horn of Lomansville, Ky., and Nebert Lee Jr. (Patricia) Horn “Bubby”, one daughter; Marlena (Victor) Slone of Lovely, Ky., three sisters; Ida Harvey of Inez, Ky., Alvatine Williams, of Inez, Ky., and Glendene Pack of Inez, Ky., twelve grandchildren; Jarrod and Cody Slone, Brittany and Josh Horn, Holly Hinkle, Zack, Austin, Michael, Lauren, Kennedy, Carley and Noah Grant Horn, three great-grandchildren; Kyleigh and Sophie Hinkle and Noah Zachary Horn and one daughter-in-law; Wilma Rice.
   Nebert Lee was a longtime umpire and referee, president of the sportsman club, member of the Martin County REACT, a civic league coach and a lifelong foxhunter. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
   Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Monday, October 23, 2017 in the chapel of the Crum Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Horn Family Cemetery, Inez. Dr. Garrett Mills and Joey Jarrell will be officiating. Mr. Horns grandsons will be serving as pallbearers. Friends can visit the funeral home from 6-9 pm Saturday and Sunday. Judy K. Johnson, age 54 of Inez, KY. passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 at her home. Born, October 16, 1963 in Louisa, KY. She is the daughter of Loretha Bowen and the late Ulysses Muncy. In addition to her father, she is also preceded in death by one brother: Paul Muncy, her father-in-law: Paul Bowen, Sr., and one brother-in-law: Paul Bowen, Jr.

     In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Willie Johnson. She is also survived by two sons; William Bradley Johnson (Angie) of Paintsville, and Zachary Aaron Johnson of Martin County; two brothers: Ulysses Muncy, Jr. of Inez and Earshel Muncy of Blanchester, Ohio; four sisters: Almeta Timms of Inez, Ky., Evanelle Goss of Milltown, Indiana, Diann Issac of Columbus, Ohio and Arlene Walje of Sedalia, Missouri; her mother-in-law: Helen Bowen, one granddaughter: Rylan Elaine Johnson and several nieces and nephews also survive.

     Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 1, 2017, 2:00pm, at New Friendship Church with burial to follow in the Johnson Family Cemetery. Reverend Mike Horn will preside. Visitation services will be at the church after 5pm on Monday, October 30, 2017 and Tuesday, October 31, 2017.  Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home, Inez.

  Betty J. Stepp, 59, wife of Bobby G. Stepp of Inez, KY, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017. She was born September 22, 1958 in Louisa, KY to the late Rufus and Christina Bowen Maynard. Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her husband she is survived by two children, Robert (Colleen) Stepp and Candi (Fiancé Randy Quesenberry) Stepp ; three grandchildren, Bethany, Jacob and Isaiah Stepp; 13 siblings, Bobby, Brenda, Richard “Doc”, Glenda, Donna, Danny “George”, Jerry, Calvin, RC, Yvenne, Linda, Virginia Ann and Blanche. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Rufus, Jr., Deford, Fred and Smiley. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Vineyard United Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 1-8, Monday, October 30, 2017, at the church. Burial will follow in the Maynard Family Cemetery. Crum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to Community Hospice of Ashland. Arrangements are under the direction of the Crum Funeral Home, Inez. 59 of Inez, Ky., passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the Martin County Health Care Facility.   Burnam Workman, age 64 of Warfield, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at his home. Born, August 8, 1953  in Williamson WV., he was the son of the late Sidney and Susie Miller Workman. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife Debra Lynn Workman., Three brothers: Richard Workman, Conley Workman and Lilbrean Marcum., five sisters: Rebecca Moore, Shelby Jean Johnson, Blanche Evans, Quinelle Preece and Melissa Workman. He is survived one son; Matthew Wyatt Workman of Paintsville Ky., one daughter; Natalie Danielle Sublett of Nicholasville, Ky., three grandchildren also survive.
