Darlene (Jude) Blackburn

Darlene Blackburn, age 58, of Ulysses, KY passed away on Thursday May 23, 2019 at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV. Jesus called her home around 10:55 PM with her family by her side. She was born March 24, 1961 to the late Matthew Jude and Betty Jude in Three Forks, KY. Darlene was preceded in death by her father, Matthew better known as “Dooter,” her father in law Willie Blackburn, her mother in law, Laura Belle Blackburn and two brothers Teddy and Charlie Walker Jude. In addition to her mother, Darlene is survived by her loving husband of thirty-eight years, Willie “Beadie” Blackburn, one daughter, Samantha (Brett) Fitch of Ulysses, KY, two sons Willie Blackburn (Andrea Stacy) of Ulysses, KY, and Justin “P-body” Tackett of Louisa, KY, two sisters, Dora (Hoby) Bartley of Inez, KY, and Patty Collins of Inez, KY, three brothers, Matthew Jude Jr, of Inez, KY, Paul (Vina) Jude of Pilgrim, KY, John H. Jude of Lovely, KY. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Morgan Nicole, Willie James “JoJo”, Corbin Alexander, and Lucas Andrew Cole Blackburn and Keigan Tackett that she loved with all her heart, as well as eleven nieces, eleven nephews, and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.

Darlene was a loving wife, mother, and Nan-Nan. She was of the Freewill Baptist faith. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, drinking her coffee, fishing, and dirt track racing. If you knew Darlene, you knew a special lady. Despite her battle, she always found the strength to tell those she loved, how much she loved them.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 27, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Buck Branch United Baptist Church with Luther Fletcher and Buddy Stacy officiating. Burial will follow at the Blackburn Family Cemetery, Inez, KY. Friends and Family may visit the church from 5:00 PM Saturday up until the time of service on Monday. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
