Phyllis Rose Obituary

Psalm 31:5

Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hadst redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.

A beautiful baby girl was sent down from heaven May 5, 1934 at a small town called Inez, KY. Matt Johnson from Martin County, KY and Dixie Fitch from Lawrence County, KY would not only be blessed but they would name this beautiful little girl, Phyllis Jean Johnson.

As Phyllis began to grow and become a strong willed little girl, she would also become the strength her mother needed to help her in a time of need. Phyllis' brothers and sisters; Charles, James, Paul, Bradley (Bear), Rondal, Benny, Nellie Ruth, Ova, Maggie and Bonnie would become dependent on her as their mother recovered from illness.

Phyllis grew to become a strong beautiful young woman that caught the attention of her future husband Ken Rose of Mingo County, WV, whom preceded her in death.

December 19, 1952, Ken married Phyllis and they began together a journey of work, love and appreciation. Together , they were blessed with 12 children, Etsel (Lavonne), Hershel (Deceased), Rosalene, Charles (Brenda), Dixie (L.T.), Kenny (Lucille), Elvis (Debbie), Wendell (Carolyn), Floyd (Lisa), Bonnie (Mike), Bobby (Rita), Garland (Margo), and Shawn (Cassie). With all this love God blessed Phyllis with 32 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 5 great, great grandchildren.

The year, 1964, Phyllis dedicated her life to God and remained active in the Naugatuck Church of God. Everyone always said that if a prayer could reach heaven, they knew she could pray hers through. She was an avid quilter and always had a quilt for donation to help the church raise money.

She thoroughly enjoyed the holidays when all the children gathered to eat, laugh, take pictures, and exchange gifts. They loved that she was a prankster and not only laughter at others but herself also. All the children say they'll remember best her telling ghost stories and the laughter as the gathered together.

Monday, October 1, 2018, at Three Rivers Medical Center, Louisa, KY, God sent his angels from heaven to safely take her home. She was surrounded by her loving family who will greatly miss her.
