Wanda Mae (Simpkins) Sherrard

Wanda Mae Sherrard, age 78, of Hardy, KY, passed away February 26, 2019 at Pikeville Medical Center. She was born February 11, 1941 to the late Ermil Simpkins and Alice Workman Simpkins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Sherrard, one brother, Emanuel "Butch" Simpkins, two sisters, Della Blackburn and Jean Hinkle, and one great grandchild. She is survived by three sons, Kennith (Judy) Kirk of Lanesville, OH, Bruce (Kimberly) Kirk of Reynoldsburg, OH, and adopted grandson, Shawn Sherrard of Naugatuck, WV, one daughter, Debra (Norman) Littlejohn of Naugatuck, WV, one sister, Ruby (Joseph) Slone of Hardy, KY, and one sister in law, Helen Simpkins of Venton, OH. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 1 PM at the Ajax Church of our Lord Jesus Christ, Lenore, WV with burial to follow in the Simpkins Cemetery in Naugatuck, WV. Friends may visit at the church after 5 PM on Friday and from 12 PM until time of service on Saturday. There will be services beginning at 7 PM on Friday. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
