Alene (Ooten) James

Alene James, age 77, of Inez, KY, passed away July 9, 2020 at Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY. She was born June 1, 1943 to the late Garland Ooten and Rosa Mae (Burke) Ooten in Ragland, WV. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edgar James, two brothers, Howard Ooten and Arvel Ooten, and one sister, Hannah Wooten. She is survived by two sons, Rick (Brenda) James of Inez, KY and Micky (Carla) James of Mississippi, two daughters, Elizabeth Ann (Douglas) Little of Paintsville, KY and Sandra James of Inez, KY, three brothers, Tommy Ooten of Chapmanville, WV, Wendell Ooten of Rum Creek, WV, and Johnny Adkins of North Carolina. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at 2 PM in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home with Riley Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Memorial Garden, Louisa, KY. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday from 6 PM to 8 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
