Billy Ray Hammond

Billy Ray Hammond, age 82, of Louisa, KY, passed away October 14, 2023 at CAMC Memorial in Charleston, WV. He was born February 3, 1941 in Crum, WV to the late Mont and Mabel Copley Hammond. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Vennie Hammond, one son, Billy Jack Hammond, one daughter, Peggy Music, four brothers, Jack Hammond, Clyde Hammond, Ronnie Hammond and Charles Hammond, two sisters, Anita Haney and Minnie Sue Bailey, and one grandson, Brandon Preece. He is survived by two sons, Elmer (Connie Preece) Hammond and Robert "Bobby" Hammond, both of Louisa, KY, one daugther, Jan Runyon of Columbus, OH, one brother, Joe Hammond of Louisville, KY, and one sister, Pauletta Barrett of South Carolina. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Sheena Copley, Jimmy Ray Gantt, Brian Gantt, Ryan Runyon, Kendra Runyon, Felecia Hammond, Bobbie Sue "Lucy" Howard, Kaylee Hammond, Emily Hammond, Kilee Jo Muncy, Shyleh Muncy, Nova Maynard, and Sabrina Preece, and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 12 PM in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home with Casey Carver officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Garden in Louisa, KY. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday and Tuesday from 6 to 9 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
