Brenda Lou (Tackett) Sammons

Brenda Lou (Tackett) Sammons, age 76, passed away on July 13, 2026, at the Martin County Health Care Facility in Inez, KY. She was born on February 4, 1950, to Lloyd T. Earl Tackett, Jr. and Vivian (Marcum) Tackett in Martin County, KY. In addition to her father, Brenda was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Tackett. She is survived by her mother, her husband Ewell Clay Sammons of Salyersville, KY, two sons, Steve (Jeanna) Sammons of Salyersville, KY, and Todd (Tinnah) Sammons of Morehead, KY, one brother, James Tackett of Atlanta, GA, and two sisters, Debbie Haertzen of Crestwood, KY, and Sherrie Kemper of Louisville, KY. Brenda is also survived by seven grandchildren, Logan Sammons, Kaitlyn (John) Adams, Skyler (Brianna) Sammons, Raegan Sammons, Brayden Sammons, Noah Sammons, and Eli Sammons, and four great grandchildren, Finn Adams, Maisy Adams, Everly Sammons, and Valle Kayte Adams. Brenda's favorite things included the Kentucky Wildcats, visiting the beach, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 1 PM in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home with Weyman McGuire officiating. Burial will follow in the Marcum Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 15th, from 6 PM to 9 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
