Cecil Crum, age 71, of Inez, KY gained his wings on January 8, 2021 at Kings Daughter Medical Center in Ashland, KY. He was born September 3, 1949 in Martin County, KY to the late Dewey Crum and Ella Mills Crum. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Stella Jarrell, Lillian Fluty, Kathryn Crum, Martin Crum, J.B. Crum, Cab Crum, Troy Crum, Boyd Crum, Ersel Crum, Nancy Whitt, Lydia Crum and Clista Bowen, and one daughter, Chastity Mocilan. He is survived by three sons, Jayson Crum of Paintsville, KY, Justin (Lacey) Crum of Benedict, ND, and Cecil Crum, Jr. of Fargo, ND, Carmen Harless, a very special extended family who loved him very much, four grandchildren, Isabella Mocilan, Hailey Crum, Chloe Crum, and Jaxon Crum. He is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, lifelong friends who became family, and his camping family at Lake Cumberland RV Park. Cecil was a disabled Veteran, having served in the United States Army from June 19, 1970 to January 19, 1972. Cecil then returned home and worked for Island Creek Coal Company. He was a loving father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him. He loved to fish, camp, and garden. Cecil will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him but our loss is Heaven's gain.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Meades Branch Freewill Baptist Church at 1:00 PM with Michael Marcum officiating. Pallbearers will be Michael Marcum, Nick Marcum, Wesley Johnson, Charley Fitch, and Blake Marcum. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Garden in Louisa, KY. Friends may visit at the church on Sunday and Monday from 5 PM to 9 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
