Charles "Dick" Tipton

Charles "Dick" Tipton, age 76, of Inez, KY, passed away on March 31, 2025, at his residence. He was born on December 20, 1948, to the late Edgar and Grace (Blackburn) Tipton in Inez, KY. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by one brother, John "Ribe" Tipton, three sisters, Verlie Wilson, Barbara Castle, and Beverly Horn, and one grandson, Owen Childers. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Phyllis Ann (Copley) Tipton of Inez, KY, one son, Bryan Richard Tipton of Prestonsburg, KY, one daughter, Tanya (Walter) Jackson of Debord, KY, one brother, Eddie (Peanut) Tipton of Columbus, OH, and a daughter-in-love, Jamie Belcher. Charles is also survived by eight grandchildren, Chase Childers, Kennedi Tipton, Nicholas Jackson, Justin (Alice) Jackson, William Jackson, Austin Jackson, Ashlee Belcher, and Hannah Belcher, and a host of great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Charles was a member of the UMWA Local 93 and the Vineyard United Baptist Church. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 11 AM in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home with James Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in the Tipton Family Cemetery in Inez, KY.  Friends may visit the funeral home on Tuesday, April 1st, and Wednesday, April 2nd from 6 PM to 9PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
