Claude "Buddy" Moore, (also known as Hook n' Beans), 80 of Crum, WV, retired his cowboy boots and completed his life's journey on October 17, 2024, leaving behind an everlasting legacy. Buddy was raised in the hills of Martin County, Kentucky, born as the son of the late Johnny and Nancy (Jude) Moore. His boots had many walks of life- from coal mining in the hills of West Virginia, to tapping on the stage next to Dr. Ralph Stanley. Bluegrass was a passion that Buddy passed down to his children, grandchildren, nephews, family and friends. Of all his passions of life, the greatest was his children, who he shared with the late Juanita (Marcum) Sammons: Debbie (John) Hannah, Margie (David) Wright, both of Crum, WV; and Claude "BJ" Jr. (Vickie) Moore, of Grey Eagle, WV. He is also survived by his spouse, Helen Moore of Lawrence County, KY.
Others left to cherish his memory: Aunt: Marie Jude of Martin County, Kentucky. Sister: Ruby Pauley, of Columbus, Ohio. Brother: Terry Moore, of Fort Gay, WV, and stepchildren: Dennie, Bennie, Minnie, and Jay. His grandchildren: Jonathan Claude, Christopher, Donnie, Kayla Juanita, Samantha, Ashley, Tabithia, Brett, Angel, Paige, and Madison. 29 great-grandchildren who loved their "Poppy", "Pawpaw Buddy". Two special sisters in law, Brenda Spaulding and Lois Marcum.
Those who proceeded him in death: an infant son, Henry Gabe Moore. His parents, and his siblings Edna Spaulding, Sadie Brewer, Connie, Bobby, and Joe Moore.
