Cory Mathew Marcum

Cory Mathew Marcum, age 27, of Crum, WV went home to be with his heavenly Father on Monday, April 10, 2023. Cory was born October 28, 1995 in Prestonsburg, KY. He is survived by his parents, Heath Marcum of Williamson, WV, and Jennifer Michelle Webb and Eric Brown of Crum, WV. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandmother, Mary Ellen (Dials) Curry of Crum, WV, his sisters, Brianna Marcum and Kadence Blackburn, brothers, Mason, Alven, David and Cody Marcum of Williamson, WV who he loved laughing, talking and telling secrets with, his aunts, Tammy Marcum, Candie Preece, Beatrice "Pie" Dials, Sandie Preece, Christy Runyon, Heather McKeever, April Maynard, Sally, Linda and Angie, and his uncle, Josh Webb of Lovely, KY, 

Cory is also survived by his 1st cousins, Samantha Gambill, Audrea Gambill, Marie Gambill, Cody Gambill, Kayla Maynard, Kelsey Maynard, Erica (Amos) Fitch, Jason (Sara) Mills, Gracie Runyon, and Suzie Runyon, and 2nd cousins, Kayden Smith, Kinsley Hicks, Keenan Fouch, Sophie Mills and Marlie Fitch and a host of nieces and nephews. Cory was a carpenter and was well loved by everyone who knew him. He always had a big bright smile on his face and was happy go lucky. He loved and treated everyone with love. If he couldn't say something good about you, he didn't say anything at all. Cory also loved to hunt to pass the time. He loved the outdoors. Most of all, he just loved being with his family and eating big dinners, watching football and basketball games. He had just started hunting a couple years back and loved it. He couldn't wait to go Turkey hunting this year. Cory never met a stranger. He is also survived by his dear friend and Godmother, Lou Ellen Jude and Timmy Turner who was a father like figure to him. 

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Geraldine Justice, Alvin Marcum, and Mark and Becky Carter, his cousins, Briella Rose and Larry Jacobs and his uncle, Joey Runyon.  

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 1 PM in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY with Michael Justice, Freddie Messer and George Carter officiating. Burial will follow at the Brown and Marcum Cemetery on Wolf Creek. Pallbearers will be Josh Webb, David Marcum, Alven Marcum, Zack West, Tara "Baby T" Sexton, Cody Marcum, Cody Gambill and Aaron Hill. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday and Tuesday from 5 PM to 9 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
