Danny Ray Edwards

Danny Ray Edwards, age 69, of Varney, WV, passed away at his home in Inez, KY on Sunday, February 7, 2021. He was born in Varney, WV on October 26, 1951 to the late Margaret Ellen (Edwards) Ayash and Evert Bishop. He attended Burch High School. Danny married Joyce G. (Chapman) Edwards and they had three children, Michael (Annette) Evans, Felicia (Michael) Evans, and Herchell (Rebekah) Evans. He was a retired Marine #6 SSGT and served his country for nearly 11 years. He was also a Vietnam Veteran. In his spare time, Danny enjoyed participating in fishing, hunting, and many outdoor family activities. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by eight grandchildren, Savannah Evans, Michael Dale Evans, Jr., Gabriel Evans, Zeena Evans, Abigail (Chase) Fritz, Michael Daniel Evans, Jr., Ava Evans and Johnathan Evans, three great grandchildren, Zander Thompson, Rayden Baisden, and Danika Copley, his sister-in-law, Fannie "Sissy" Chapman, his brother-in-law, James Chapman, and his special brothers and sisters in Christ at the Church of God. He is also survived by his furbabies, Thor, Shiny, and Molly. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Curtis and Sarah Edwards, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lucille and Herchell Chapman, and two brother-in-laws, Mack Chapman and Jack Chapman. The family would like to thank Dr. Martinez and the Prestonsburg VA, The Telehealth VA, Sierra Dingess and The Village Caregivers and Appalachian Hospice Care for taking such good care of Danny during the precious time he spent here on Earth. Memorial Donations can be made in Danny's name to Appalachian Hospice Care. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 1 PM at the Edwards residence. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
