Eddie Joe Hammond

Eddie Joe Hammond, age 70, of Inez, KY, passed away December 14, 2023 at his residence. He was born October 4, 1953 in Martin County, KY to the late Ransom and Ivy Hammond. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Jason Hammond, one brother, Elmer Dalton, and two sisters, Vicie Mills Oliver and Marie Mills. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Preece Hammond of Inez, KY, one son, Dustin (Roshunda) Hammond of San Marcos, TX, and one daughter, Crystal (Wesley) Wright of Louisa, KY. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Kiley Jo Wright, Jaylan Aaryn Wright, Jaycee Hammond and Xavier Hammond and his very special friend, Buddy Pemberton. He was a member of the Zion United Baptist Church of Pack Bottom. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral cost. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at 1 PM at the Zion United Baptist Church of Pack Bottom with Lonnie Ratliff and Elijah Collins officiating. Burial will follow at the Dalton Family Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church on Friday and Saturday beginning at 6 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
