Ella Rose (Connors) Sumpter

Ella Rose Sumpter, age 88, of Inez, KY, passed away December 14, 2022 at her residence. She was born June 12, 1934 in Floyd County, KY to the late Raymond and Inez Goble Connors. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death  one son, Randy Ray Sumpter, one daughter, Linda Lou Sumpter, and four brothers, Neil Connors, Stanley Connors, Jimmy Connors, and Hugh Burton Connors. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Samuel Lee Sumpter, two sons, Gary Lee (Janet) Sumpter of Louisa, KY and Samuel Lee (Loretta) Sumpter, Jr. of Tomahawk, KY, two daughters, Greta Gay (Don) Blackburn and Sandiena (Melvin) Howard, both of Inez, KY, and one brother, Lowell (Patsy) Connors of Fort Smith, AR. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, her caregiver, Julie Moore, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 1 PM in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home with Bubby Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the Mills Horn Crum Cemetery on Turkey. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 5 PM to 9 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
