Eugene Maynard

Eugene Maynard, age 77, of Beauty, KY, passed away February 26, 2024 at his home with family at his bedside. He was born March 4, 1946 in Beauty, KY to the late Charlie and Anna Mary McCoy Maynard. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Pearl Maynard and Elbert Spaulding, Jr., eight sisters, Inice Moore, Betty McCoy, Pauline May, Grace Slone, Nellie Spaulding, Lizzie Slone, Juanita Shipe, and Patty F. Cassady. He is survived by his wife, Nyoka, whom he was married to for 53 years, two sons, Eugene (Rhonda) Maynard, Jr. of Lenore, WV, Charles Raymond "Chuck" (Alicia Singleton) Maynard of Burgin, KY, one daughter, Lisa (Virgil) Marcum of Beauty, KY, and four brothers-in-law, Talmadge Jenkins, Tommy McCoy, Bill Shipe and Bob Slone. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Morgan (Dave) Evans, Devin Maynard, Bryan Marcum, Rihanna Marcum, Chasity (Ricky) Harless, Ethan Maynard, Mason Singleton, and five great grandchildren, Ella Evans, Eli Evans, Jaylyn Harless, Ricky Harless, and Kyler Harless. Eugene worked as a hardware manager, coal miner, and for Ken's Auto Sales for several years. He loved to be outdoors and enjoyed traveling with his family. One of his great loves was to ride his motorcycle. The greatest accomplishment he ever achieved was when he accepted Jesus as his savior in 2023. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 12 PM in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home with Joe Maynard officiating. Burial will follow at the Charlie Maynard Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday and Wednesday from 6 PM to 9 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
