Franklin Baldridge Obituary

Franklin Thomas Baldrige, 67, entered into his eternal reward and the arms of his Savior September 15, 2020.

He was a humble, kind hearted man who dedicated his life to God, his church, his family and countless brothers and sisters in Christ. He also held many friends and students dear that he also considered family throughout his 40+ years as a dedicated educator and coach in Martin County, Kentucky.

His vast intelligence was admired far and wide as was his tender, compassionate heart. He was a devoted husband and is survived by his cherished wife of 42 years, Janice Sue Baldridge. He was also an incredible, loving Father and is also survived by his three children; Wendy Graney, Ethel Marie Slone and Thomas Baldridge. He loved and welcomed their spouses; Patrick Graney, Ryan Slone and Tracy Baldridge as his own and adored his 6 grandchildren; Riley Baldridge, Marley Baldridge, Connor Baldridge, Liam Graney, Bella Slone and Alex Slone. He was an irreplaceable part of many lives and will be sorely and completely missed.

Franklin was born on October 14, 1952 in Mansfield, Ohio to Francis Marion “Bill” and Ethel Baldridge. He was the youngest boy in a family of 9 children. He had very special and dedicated relationships with each of his siblings and was preceded in death by his parents and siblings;  Flo, Dixie, Pauline, Jack and Francis (Junior). He is survived by his brother Donald Baldridge; sisters Evallene Moricle and Samantha Durbin and many nieces, nephews and cousins he loved dearly.

He was a University of Kentucky and Morehead State University alumnus, was named a Kentucky Colonel and earned many accolades as an academic team coach at Sheldon Clark High School. He also found great joy and peace in his service as Pastor at Cannonsburg Primitive Baptist Church for many years.
