Gordon Francis "Poly" Goble

Gordon Francis "Poly" Goble, age 74, of Inez, KY went home to be with the Lord on November 11, 2021 at 5:06 AM at Community Hospice of Ashland. He was born November 14, 1946 in Paintsville, KY. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lake and Veatrice Goble of Debord, KY, one brother Harold Roger Goble of Inez, KY, and one sister, Glenda Faye (Dennis) Ramey of Columbus, OH. Gordon was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his wife, Nelma Goble of Inez, KY, one daughter Legna (John) Pope of Shepherdsville, KY, three beautiful grandchildren, Faith (Austin) McIntyre, Luke Pope, and Jack Pope, all of Shepherdsville, KY, one brother, John "Doc" (Blanche) Goble of Debord, KY, one sister, Joyce (Jim) Eignaugle of FL, one sister-in-law, Ida Fay Goble of Inez, KY, and three brother-in-laws, Bill Murphy of Warfield, KY, Dewey (Connie) Murphy Jr. of Lovely, KY and Greg (Patty) Murphy of Lovely, KY. 

He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all those who were care givers during this time. 

Poly will be remembered for the many generous contributions he made to his family, friends and community. Gordon was an Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam War. He retired in 2002 from Martin County Coal Preparation Plant. He was a faithful member, Deacon and song leader of Warfield Missionary Baptist Church. Poly was an avid fisherman and loved helping others anytime he was needed. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives were touched by his presence. 

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home with Garmon Preece officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday from 5 PM to 9 PM. Interment will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021 at the Highland Cemetery in Staffordsville, KY at 10 AM. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
