James Luther Scott

James Luther Scott, age 84, of Pilgrim, KY, passed away July 6, 2024 at Highlands Appalachian Regional Hospital. He was born July 30, 1939 in Pike County, KY to the late Axton and June Meade Scott. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Vadie Howell Scott, seven brothers, Wayne Scott, Rass Scott, Jeff Scott, Tee Scott, Leonard Scott, Ben Scott, and Willard Scott, two sisters, Isabelle Lyons and Mary Collins, and one grandchild, Benjamin Grady Scott. He is survived by two sons, James Curtis (Kara) Scott of Inez, KY and Dennis (Patricia Miracle) Scott of Pilgrim, KY, and one brother, Paul Dean Scott of Paintsville, KY. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Alison Scott, Hannah (Cory) Stacy, Ryan (Brooke) Smith, Brady (Ashley Ward) Smith, and Kaleb Smith, one great granddaughter, BrenLynn Smith, and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at the Sidney Old Regular Baptist Church at 11 AM with Tom Dials, Richard Staton, and Randall Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at the Robinson Scott Cemetery on Meathouse. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday and Monday from 5 PM to 9 PM with services each night at 7 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
