James Michael Williamson “Indian Joe”
April 6, 1958 - July 28, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Michael Williamson, aged 67, of Louisa, KY, who passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born on April 6, 1958, in Tomahawk, KY, James was the son of Jimmy Williamson and Barbara (Hall) Stacy. He grew up and lived in Tomahawk for many years. James worked in coal mining for over 40 years and was known to everyone as Indian Joe. James will be remembered for his dedication to serving the Lord. He and his wife are members of Fallsburg Tabernacle, and he was a deacon for many years. He loved to share his love for Jesus with everyone. He worked tirelessly for the church and the local food pantry. James is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Dedra Williamson. They loved spending time with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They also strived to always work together serving the Lord and their church. He is also survived by his son, Michael Paul Williamson and wife Freedom of Lancaster, SC. His daughter Samantha Newsome and husband Tommy of Lenore, WV. His grandchildren, Tyler Newsome, Alyssa (Peyton) Hensley, Jamalynn (Shane) Jude-Block, and Andrea (Devin) Newsome. His great-grandchildren, Ember Jude-Block and Ava Hensley. He also leaves behind a large host of family and friends who will miss him dearly. He is proceeded in death by one loved and cherished grandson, Xzaiver Witham. Visitation will take place on Wednesday July 30, 2025, at 2 pm for family, 3 pm for friends at the Fallsburg Tabernacle Church. Church service Wednesday at 7 pm, Preacher Brian Crum with the message. Funeral services will be on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 1 pm at the Fallsburg Tabernacle Church. Services will be led by Pastor Rudy Crockett and Edmond Hickman. All who knew and loved James are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make donations to the funeral expenses at Crum Funeral Home in Inez, KY. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
