Janice Dee Jarrell, age 76, passed away on February 20, 2026 at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 28, 1949 in Ogden, Utah, the youngest of 10 children, to the late Marvin and Dorothy (Knight) Albright. Jan was a graduate of Park University in Parkville, Missouri, earning 2 Bachelors, one in Business Management and the other in Logistics. She worked as a Program and Data Analyst for the Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC), but started as a Directorate Secretary there. This often included her serving in the Command Office. She retired from DSCC after 30+ years of service. Jan was respected by her peers as well as all levels of leadership for her work ethic and positive demeanor.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, along with 4 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 60 years, Charles E. Jarrell; her daughter, Janeen; 1 brother and 2 sisters; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and precious friends.
Jan was highly involved in elementary and middle school activities, such as being a creative Room Mother, lunch prep lady, and a mentor to many of the young people with whom she interacted. She and Chuck were foster parents for a time. There were so many things that Jan enjoyed, working in her flower beds, tending to her houseplants, and reading. She was a perfectionist in all things, but especially in her painting of figurines. She was a huge help to her husband Chuck in several projects: they built a cabin together, did room additions, a pole barn, a two-story garage, and then some. She also loved nature, especially mountains; and enjoyed bird watching with her husband.
She will be missed tremendously by all those she touched.
