Joseph Jude, Sr.

Joseph Jude, Sr., age 82, born October 3, 1937 in Threeforks, KY to the late Harrison Jude I and Ollie (Maynard) Jude, went home to be with the LORD July 3, 2020 at 8:25 PM in Waverly, OH. Joseph was united in marriage to Judy Carol Skaggs on November 13, 1961 in Lebanon, Virginia. He was preceded in death by seven brothers, David, Harrison, Elijah, Bill, George, Floyd and T.J. and three sisters, Louise Jude, Virgie Fletcher and Easter Crum. He is survived by his wife, Judy, of 58 years, five children, Patricia Smith of Waverly, OH, Joseph (Kim) Jude, Jr. of Frankfort, OH, Harold "Beanie" (Celena) Jude of Waverly, OH, Lynn (Ed) Woods of Waverly, OH, and Judy Gail (Lowell) Ealey of Waverly, OH. Joseph is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, one sister, Vicky Jean (Wendell) Luther and two brothers, Charlie (Mable) Jude and Lacy (Gladys) Jude of Martin County. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Joseph was a former coal miner and tree surgeon. He invented the "stanky leg" dance over 60+ years ago (LOL)! He was a member of the Sandy Chapel Enterprise Baptist Church of Chillicothe, OH for the past 23 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bluegrass, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, sports and his grandchildren. He taught his children and grandchildren the basic "Hillbilly" necessities (LOL). Funeral services will be held at the Big Elk United Baptist on Tuesday at 1 PM with George Isaac Jude and Thomas Jude officiating. Burial will follow at the Muncy Cemetery on Emily Creek Rd. Friends may visit at the church on Sunday and Monday beginning at 2 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
