Lewis "Cotton" Lee Maynard

Lewis Lee Maynard, aka "Cotton," born May 15, 1947 to the late Jesse and Ethel (Muncy) Maynard passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024. Cotton was an US Army Veteran having served in Vietnam, a respected member and leader of the Inez Church of Christ and a long time business man in Inez, KY. Cotton passed honorably after a long illness while being surrounded and comforted by family at his home in Richmond, KY. Cotton was a devoted Christian, loving husband, excellent father/grandfather and a decent fisherman. Cotton Maynard was a caring, generous, loving example of a man who will be missed greatly and his memory will be cherished by those fortunate to have shared in his walk on this earth. 

Lewis "Cotton" Maynard leaves behind his loving wife of 59 years, Lynn (Blankenship) Maynard, who he cherished dearly. He is also survived by daughter, Amy Reed, of Richmond, daughter, Traci (Franklin) Patrick of Richmond and Gary Reed of Lexington, Kentucky. His grandchildren, Jeramie (Noelani) Reed of Miami, Florida, Tyler Reed, Lynsey and Josie (Aren) Patrick of Richmond, Kentucky, brother Danny (Etta) Maynard of Lancaster, Kentucky, sister Maggie (Jimbo) Marcum of Inez, Kentucky and sister-in-law, Karen (Jerry) Tramel of Inez, Kentucky. He was also survived by a close family friend and caretaker, Ta'mira Va'a of Lexington, Kentucky. 

Lewis "Cotton" Maynard was preceded in death by his sisters, Helen Moore, Martha Crum, Garnett Young, Norma Jean Hall, and brothers Monroe, Jesse (Junior), Herbert, Russell, and Bennie Maynard. 

Family and friends may visit the funeral home on Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 1:00 PM on Sunday at the Inez Church of Christ, with his nephew James Russell Maynard officiating. Burial to follow at the Mountain Valley Memorial Garden.
