Mary Elizabeth (McGuire) Varney

Mary Elizabeth Varney, age 85, of Crum, WV, passed away July 30, 2024 at The Jordan Center in Louisa, KY. She was born June 4, 1939 in Mingo County, WV to the late Clatis and Gladys Marcum McGuire. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son, Michael Varney, one daughter, Patricia Ann Varney Robinson, one grandchild, Kevin Lee Polk, one great grandchild, Shad Newberg, and one brother, Clatis McGuire, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Troy Varney, one son, Don E. Varney of Crum, WV, two daughters, Pam (Gary) Queen of Wayne, WV, and Kim (John) Polk of Yulee, FL, and one sister, Lois J. Richmond of Louisa, KY, She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Andrea (Carroll) Dailey, Jessica Robinson Miligan, Kristen (Polk) Newberg, Mary Ann Robinson, Marsha (Carroll) Stiltner, Vicky (Robinson) Perry, and Becky Robinson, and nine great grandchildren, Garrett Woodard, Jessi Dailey, Tyler Stiltner, Addisyn Stiltner, Gavin Perry, Larson Newberg, Colin Milligan, Hayden Perry, and Rylan Perry. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 1 PM at the Crum Church of Christ (Crum, WV) with Clifford Hatcher and Bob Harper officiating. Burial will follow at the Varney Family Cemetery on Silver Creek. Friends may visit at the church on Thursday from 5 PM to 9 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
