Mitchell Blackburn

Mitchell Blackburn, age 49, of Inez, KY, passed away at his home on April 10, 2023. He was born on November 27, 1973 in Louisa, KY to the late Willie and Laura Belle Blackburn. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one nephew, Brandon Mahon, and one sister-in-law, Darlene Blackburn. He is survived by his children whom he loved and were his world, Donnie Gilliam of Morehead, KY, Mitchell Blade Blackburn and Jason Blackburn, both of Georgetown, KY, Katrena Gilliam, Justin Blackburn, Lexi Young Blackburn, and Tristan Blackburn, all of Inez, KY, along with their mothers, Melissa Mills and Tonya Young Blackburn. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Keira Mollett and Maci Griffith. In addition, he leaves behind eight siblings, Willie Blackburn, Jr. and Frank Blackburn, both of Ulysses, KY, Truly Mahon of Long Bottom, OH, Mary Blackburn of Inez, KY, Avonna Tiller of Tennessee, and Vernaye Maynard, Troy "TK" Blackburn, and Raymond Blackburn, all of WV, a couple of lifelong friends who he considered brothers, Jason Spence of Inez, KY and Eddie Ward of Paintsville, KY, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Mitchell left his family with a lot of great memories. He spent his last full day surrounded by his family and friends celebrating Easter. The day was full of love, laughter and memories that will stay with us forever. He loved each and every one of his family and friends. "Trust me." Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 1 PM in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home with Sammy Ray Patrick officiating. Burial will follow at the Blackburn Family Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday and Friday from 5 PM to 9 PM. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral cost. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
