Molly K. Trivett went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 2, 2024. She passed peacefully in her home with her family by her side. Molly is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Monroe Trivett, one son-in-law, James Hager, her parents, Thomas Jefferson Evans and Athalean Beatrice Lafferty Evans, one son, Charles Gregory Trivett, two brothers, Pastor Carlos Evans and George Evans, and five sisters, Hazel Hensley, Malinda Bowen, Marinda Marcum, Gay Chaffins, and Mary Dowden. She is survived by four daughters, Sherry Sluss of Martin County, KY, Donna (Brian) Carter of Ohio, Tonya Kay (Matthew) Evans of Oak Hill, WV, and Ivalean Hager of Inez, KY and one brother, William Harrison "Bill" (Daisy) Vanover of Lovely, KY. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Morgan Hager, James "Sailor" Hager, Ava Greene, Ella Greene, Brian Carter, Blake Carter, Rachel Carter, Brandon Sluss, Kate Trivett, and Brackett Trivett, one great grandchild, Roman Carter, and Hunter Stacy, whom she thought of as a grandson. Molly was the lead singer and piano player at her home church, Oppy Church of God, for over 40 years. She loved her church family and worshipping God through music. She was quite the self-taught musician and could play several instruments by ear and sing as well. In addition to her role in the church, she also enjoyed sewing, making homecooked meals, and traveling to Tennessee with her friends. Molly did not know a stranger. Often referred to as “Jolly Molly”, she loved people and enjoyed being in the company of others. She loved laughing, playing pranks, and making up games for the kids and family to play on the holidays. Throughout her life Molly was a “Jack of all trades”. She worked several positions in the medical field, including nurse’s aide, phlebotomist, and respiratory therapist. She also worked in the community as a school bus driver, cosmetologist, clothing boutique owner, and secretary for Vanover Sanitation, owned by her brother, Bill Vanover. There was really nothing Molly couldn’t do if she set her mind to it. Molly was loved by her community, family, and friends and will be greatly missed. At the request of the family, there will be no services at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
