Myrtle Salmons of Marrowbone Creek, Kermit, WV, went home to be with the Lord on August 29, 2019. She was 92 years old. She was born October 18, 1926 at Marrowbone Creek. She was the daughter of the late Riley and Lola Rose. Myrtle was a member of the East Kermit Church of God for many years and retired from the Mingo County School System. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Salmons, her brother, Wilburn Rose, and her sisters, Stella Brewer, Alice Marcum and Ethel Sartin Fluty. She is survived by one sister, Opal McClure and one brother, Pearl Rose. She is also survived by five children: Pam (Tim) Smith of Glenwood, WV; Saul (Cindy) Salmons, Lola Faye Salmons and Glen Salmons, all of Kermit, WV, and Linda Fletcher of Prestonsburg, KY. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones. Visitation will begin Friday, August 30, 2019 at 6 PM at the East Kermit Church of God with services being held on Saturday at 7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the church with burial immediately following after at the Rose town Cemetery, Marrowbone Creek, Kermit, WV. Otis Linville and Damien Salmons will be officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
