Phillip Curtis Smith

Phillip Curtis Smith, age 72, of Inez, KY, passed away August 11, 2023 at Highlands ARH. He was born September 5, 1950 in Logan, WV to Shirley Staton Smith of Ashland, KY and the late Phillip Smith. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Linda Sue Smith, one son, John David (Jerrie) Smith of Versailles, KY, one daughter, Kimberly Dawn Smith of Winchester, KY and one sister, Connie Adkins of Ashland, KY. He is also survived by one grandchild, Courtney Nicole Smith of Columbus, OH, one great grandchild, Bentley James Smith of Inez, KY, and his special four-legged daughter, Izzy. Phillip was a coal miner and retired from Wolf Creek Collieries. He thought fondly of his Wolf Creek Collieries family. He was also an avid fisherman and served his country during the Vietnam War as a medic for the United States Army. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 14, 2023 at 1 PM in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the cemetery on Camp Branch. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday from 5 PM to 9 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
