Russell Smith

Russell Smith, age 90, went to be with the Lord August 20, 2025 surrounded by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ida (Jude) Smith, and his daughter, Brenda Gayle Smith. He is survived by his children, Sharon, Hazel, and Craig Smith, all of Inez, Kentucky, his brother, James Smith, and his sister-in-law, Ruth (Jack) Lowe. He is also survived by Ronnie Lowe, Christine (Fields) Jude, and Lowell Wilson as well as a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and daughter, Russell is preceded by his brothers, Ersel, Emzy, George, William, and Henry Smith, and his sisters Thelma (Smith) Stepp, Elma (Smith) Preece, Mary (Smith) Recand, and Helen (Smith) Fields. Russell was a faithful member of Big Elk United Baptist Church for 15 years. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home Sunday, August 24 at 11am with Brent Haney and George Jude officiating. Burial will follow at Jude Fletcher Cemetery. Friends and family may visit the funeral home Saturday, August 23 from 5-9pm.
