Samuel Lee Dials

Samuel Lee Dials, 69, of Inez, KY went home to be with the Lord on July 20, 2023. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Sam was born March 2, 1954 in Paintsville, KY to the late Elder Willis and Janie (Moore) Dials. He was the youngest son of thirteen children. He was baptized on February 12, 2012 and went on to be a Deacon at Big Elk United Baptist Church. He loved his church family and they've been a blessing to the family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, a brother, Clay Dials, and five sisters, Thelma Parsons, Betty Jo Moore, Helen Dawn Blankenship, Mary Ellen Curry, and Glenna Davis. He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Avonell Parsons Dials, children, Salena (David) Nichols of Inez, KY, and Dustin (Amanda) Dials of Inez, KY, and grandchildren, Abby (Mason) Gordon and Hunter and Hope Dials. He also leaves behind his siblings, two brothers, William (Billy) Dials of Lovely, KY, Timmy (Barbara) Dials of Kermit, WV, four sisters, Ina Ruth (Donald) Hall of Prestonsburg, KY, Doris (Bill) Evans of Naugatuck, WV, Beatrice "Pie" Dials of Crum, WV and Deborah (Gene Brewer) Dials of MaCombs, MI, brothers-in-law, Don (Linda) Parsons of Pilgrim, KY, Darrell Parsons of Warfield, KY, Harold (Faith) Parsons of Lawrence County, KY, Elvis (Jackie) Parsons of Inez, KY, Romaine Rhodes of Columbus, OH, Claire Preece of Wittensville, KY, Faye (James) Kirk of Inez, KY, and Maddie (Michael) Parsons Pierce. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Sam loved his wife, children and grandchildren more than anything. He was very quiet, but you never left home or got off the phone with him that he didn't say he loved you. He will be missed every day. The family wants to recognize his special friends and neighbors who've helped him and visited and been great friends to him, Roger Spence, Keith Pinson, Prentice Maynard, Harold Pack and Hayes Jude. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home with Brent Haney and George Jude officiating. Sam will be laid to rest at the Dials Cemetery on Jack Cassady Branch, Coldwater Road, Inez, KY immediately following services. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday from 6 PM to 9 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
