Shelby Jean (Newsome) Jarrett

Shelby Jean Jarrett, age 84, of Debord, KY, passed away February 17, 2023 at her residence. She was born September 19, 1938 to the late Brose and Lizzie Ward Newsome. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Jarrett, one son, Zachary Jarrett, one daughter-in-law, Deb Jarrett, seven brothers, Brose Newsome, Jr., Sylvester Newsome, Jim Newsome, Jobert Newsome, Jay Newsome, Marvin Newsome, and Hank Newsome, five sisters, Olive Preece, Louise Durst, Kathlene Dalton, Annaett Mullins, and Gretle Newsome, one grandchild, Angela Elam, and one great grandchild, Madison Elam. She is survived by three sons, Charles (Leatha) Newsome, James Jarrett, and John Jarrett, all of Debord, KY, and four daughters, Debra (Jim) May and Teresa (Bo) Jarrett, both of Debord, KY, Janet (Larry) Combs of Crossville, TN, and Angie (Doug) Edmonds of Delaware, OH, and one sister, Mary Crum, of Inez, KY. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren, Alisha Delong, Erika Delong, James Howard, Amanda Howard, Steven Marcum, Brittany Marcum, Derek Edmonds, Alex Edmonds, Brad Edmonds, Sherry Horn, Barbie Gordon, James Jarrett, Jr., Brandon Jarrett, Zach Jarrett, Stevie Putman, Rodney Crum, Rocky Crum, Charles Crum, Eric Crum, Rachel Crum, Eunis Crum, Lisa Crum, Mason Gordon, Trey Gordon, Adian Horn, Rodney Crum, and Paisley Putnam, and 30 great grandchildren, Tylin Putnam, Kohlson Putnam, Brixley Jarrett, Logan Preece, Briana Preece, Ethan Elam, Evan Howard, Mason Elam, Connor Delong, Adrian Ballard, Addison Ballard, Zoie Marcum, Zaykia Dalton, Izabella Howard, Adrian Marcum, Peyton Marcum, Mason Marcum, Skye Marcum, Hope Delong, Hunter Delong, Pierce Tipton, Kensley Tipton, Aubrey Delong, Gillian Delong, Harper Delong, Raelynn Edmonds, Calum Edmonds, Carter Jarrett, Bryson Hammonds, and Nikki Stepp. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home with Lonnie Ratliff officiating. Pallbearers will be Steven Marcum, Doug Edmonds, Derek Edmonds, Alex Edmonds, Brad Edmonds, Adian Horn, Evan Howard, and Connor Delong. Burial will follow at Mountain Valley Memorial Garden. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday and Sunday from 5 PM to 9 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
