Shirley "Shack" Harless

Shirley “Shack” Harless, age 91, of Inez, KY passed away April 14, 2023 at Community Hospice in Ashland, KY surrounded by his family. He was born May 19, 1931 to the late V.L. and Mary Bell “Tennie” Harless of Inez. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his nine brothers, Raymond, Clarence, Dean, Roger, Wheatly, Frank, Leo, George and Robert.

He is survived by his twin sister, Myrtle Preece, and another sister, Lunda Moore, both of Inez. Also surviving are his children, Sandy Harless, Rhonda Horn and Benton Harless, all of Inez, grandchildren, Natalie (Perry Ray) Yates, Josh (Stephanie) Perry, Waylon (Heather) Perry, Jordyn Harless, Colton Harless, Ben Fitch and Jon Fitch and great-grandchildren, Andrew, Kaitlyn, Lindsay, Holly, Liam, Lydia and Walker.

He was very much loved by his family, including many nieces and nephews. He gave his heart to the Lord and is now rejoicing in heaven with his family and friends.

He will be greatly missed here on earth by all who knew and loved him. He was so proud of the fact that all of his brothers and himself served in all four branches of military service for their country. Shirley was a 30 year retiree of General Motors.

He was a very special friend, Dad, Brother and Pa.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April,17 at 2 pm in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home with Nathan Harless officiating. Burial will follow at the Meadows-Harless Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday from 6 PM to 9 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
