Thelma Jean Parsons, age 81, of Pilgrim, KY, passed away March 17, 2020 at Appalachian Regional Healthcare in Hazard, KY. She was born May 14, 1938 to the late Willis Dials and Janie (Moore) Dials in Threeforks, KY. She was a proud homemaker that loved to cook for her family, sew and garden as well as a member of the Buck Branch United Baptist Church since 1980. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Ray Parsons, one son, Ricky Parsons, one brother, Clay Dials, and two sisters, Betty Moore and Glenna Dials. She is survived by two sons, Michael (Gladys) Parsons of Pilgrim, KY and John (Juanita) Parsons of Staffordsville, KY, three brothers; Billy Dials of Lovely, KY, Jimmy (Barb) Dials of Kermit, WV, and Sam (Avonell) Dials of Inez, KY, and six sisters; Mary Curry and Beatrice Dials, both of Kermit, WV, Ina Ruth (Don) Hall of Prestonsburg, KY, Helen Blankenship of Inez, KY, Doris (Bill) Evans of Naugatuck, WV and Deborah Dials of Macoms, MI. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Neil (Mandy) Parsons of Bluffton, SC, Katrina (Tony) Davis of Walton, KY, Phillip Parsons of Staffordsville, KY, Zachary (Faith Thornsbury) Parsons of Morehead, KY, Tiffany (Thomas) Crum of Inez, KY, and Brandon Parsons of Pilgrim, KY, and 12 great grandchildren; Blake Parsons, Lexi McIntosh, Austin McIntosh, Graham Parsons, Josie Parsons, Cody Parsons, Jadalyn Colemire, Kaylee Colemire, Kylia Crum, Bevin Crum, Bailey Parsons and Brennan Parsons. A private funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home with Buddy Stacy and David Stacy officiating. Burial will follow in the Dials Cemetery on Coldwater, Inez, KY. Family visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 5 PM to 9 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
