Vernon Stepp

Vernon Stepp, age 93, of Lovely, KY, passed away August 4, 2024 at Highland Appalachian Regional Hospital in Prestonsburg, KY. He was born November 11, 1930 in Pilgrim, KY to the late Harrison and Edna Newsome Stepp. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Arizona (Maynard) Stepp, his daughter, Brenda Kay Stepp Sammons, and two brothers, Russell Stepp and Benny Newsome. He is survived by two sons, James (Sue) Stepp of Louisa, KY and Mitchell Lee (Patricia) Stepp of Crum, WV, one brother, Prentice Newsome of Inez, KY and one sister, Ernestine Moore. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Brent (Sarah) Sammons, Chris (Glenna) Stepp, and Misty (Harry) Deskins, seven great grandchildren, Benjamin Sammons, Owen Sammons, Kristen Chloee Stepp, Brandi Watts, James Watts, Jack Stacy, and Renee Stacy, and two great-great grandchildren, Adalyn McBride and Grayson Watts. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at 11 AM in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home with Terry Harmon officiating. Burial will follow at the Stepp Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 PM to 9 PM with special services at 6:30 PM with James Vanhoose presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
