Virginia Dare (Rowe) Matthews

Virginia Dare (Rowe) Matthews, age 70, of Debord, KY, passed away on March 7, 2026, at her residence. She was born on April 27, 1955, to the late Albert and Estelle (McGinnis) Rowe in Grundy, VA. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Salton Matthews, one daughter, Phyllis Lou Matthews, and several siblings. Virginia is survived by four daughters, Deborah Williams of Queensland, AU, Jacqueline Perry of Kermit, WV, Jennifer Matthews of Debord, KY, and Kelsey Hall of Winchester, VA, and two sisters, Susie Preston of Debord, KY, and Shirley Elkins of Tennessee. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Russell Marcum, Connor Marcum, Todd Matthews, Tara Hunt, and Warren Matthews, and five great grandchildren, Winnie Marcum, Zane Matthews, Juniper Matthews, Penelope Matthews, and Thalia Hall. 

Friends may visit at Crum Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 5 PM to 9 PM. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
