He was a loyal servant of God who served the Lord with all of his heart, mind and soul. He was a great witness for the Lord. He never met anyone that he didn’t tell about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, always trying to lead every soul he could to God. He would often be led by the Lord to pick up total strangers and saw no fear in it, as he said God told him to do it. He would always help them in some way, and made sure they knew God loved them. One day he picked up a man who was ready to end his life, that man told him because he stopped to pick him up, he actually saved his life. All because he obeyed the Lord. William loved to sing and play music for the Lord. He sang bass from the age of 13 years old and was a member of the Oppy Church of God where he served in music, playing multiple instruments for 20 years. He loved his family with all of his heart and always put their needs above his own. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and provider. He worked in law enforcement from the age of 20 years old and loved to serve his community. William was a passionate and dedicated officer that was a volunteer deputy with the Martin County Sheriff’s Department, until his passing. He also worked in the coal mines for over 20 years to provide for his family. He loved to metal detect, fish, and most of all, he loved hitting the open road on his BMW motorcycle. He was a man of immense love for the Lord, his family, and life. His unwavering spirit will forever be remembered.
