How do you measure one's life? By wealth? By success? I believe it is by the amount of love one shows and shares in the life of others. By this measure, our mother has lived a triumphant life. We could tell a million stories of her kindness and there would always be another to be told.
Yvonne (Fannin) Perry was born on June 6, 1949 in Beauty, KY to Millard and Elma Fannin. She was the apple of her father's eye and her mother's faithful servant.
She met the love her life attending Warfield High School and married Jesse Perry, Jr. shortly thereafter. He was waiting on the far side banks of Jordan to welcome her home and we take comfort in knowing their reunion was sweet. She also had many other loved ones waiting for her, including her mother and father, her mother and father in law, Jesse and Anna Perry, brother in law, Ben Melvin Perry, sister in law, Lorene Johnson, and her infant sister, Gypsy Fannin. In front of the group would surely be her beloved son, Leslie Ray Perry, who we imagine was ribbing her for taking so long.
She leaves behind her son, Jack Mitchell Perry, who has his mother's loving heart, and took extremely good care of her until her last day. Also her youngest daughter, Stephanie (Perry) Maynard is left to share her wonderful memory. Ruth (Ricky) Mann will always be her other daughter. Grandchildren, Dustin Perry, Cassidy Perry, Jessi Perry, Kaley Jo Maynard, and Jaycee Maynard, will forever be her greatest joys.
Yvonne is also survived by brother Otis Fannin, sister Rebecca Chaffins, sisters in law, Stella Perry, Carol (Jerry) Ward, Debbie (Elbert) Osborne, Nancy Perry, and Brenda Perry. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews that she loved as her own.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Big Elk Freewill Baptist Church with John Taylor, Warnie Pinson, and J. L. Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Perry Family Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church on Monday beginning at 6 PM until the time of services on Wednesday. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez, KY.
